The Metro Warehouses in Ștefăneștii de Jos (Romania) cover a 64,000 square-metre storage area, with 10-metre-high shelving. Lighting has to cover extensive spaces and very different types of environments. To wit, in the food storage areas, temperatures drop to 5° C whilst in the freezing zone, temperatures area as low as -40° C.
The intensity of the luminous flux must also be modulated according to the presence of employees and customers.
In this warehouse, luminaire families with different characteristics were installed, depending on the context to be illuminated (colour rendering >90, colour temperature 5500K, protection IP65).
A centralised remote-control system with presence sensors and constant light
effectively regulate the light intensity. The wireless system also provides emergency lighting and control, thanks to battery-powered modules for periodic management and testing.
